Advocacy Resources
-
Advocacy at a state or county level (greater scale and therefore more challenging) generally requires you to take initiative and contact them first
-
Public comments to your City Council meetings, Sustainability Commission, school board, or any other legislative body
-
You can also try contacting your county's board of supervisors via email, as they may give you a chance to speak with them regarding climate issues you are passionate about.
-
One way to promote certain policies or goals to any of these legislative bodies is through advocacy letters
-
You can use this example letter from the Sierra Club as a template to draft your own
-

-
We also strongly encourage you to join Silicon Valley Youth Climate Action for more advocacy opportunities.
